Jon Atkin - Midfield

Veteran midfielder, in his 14th year with Plumtree FC.  Too old to play on the wing so now trying (in vain) to be Plumtree's answer to Claude Makele..

John Acaster - Goalkeeper

Big John as he's known to the ladies is Plumtree's No 1. Football is his life and he selflessly gives up his own time to 'coach' numerous ladies football teams in and around Nottingham.

Mark Hawkins - Striker

Mark has only been playing for a few years but is already second only to Jason in the all time top scorers for Plumtree. A popular figure in the dressing room, despite supporting Liverpool.

Tom Dowsett - Midfield

Plumtrees youth policy.  As he's half the age of most of the team, Tom has to do everyones running.  A tricky winger who can play on either side.

Jason Allen - Striker

Plumtree Man and Boy. Top scorer in 35 of the 40 seasons he's played for Plumtree and easily heads the all time goal scoring charts.  The only player to have a personal sponsorship deal with Fosters and Mars.

Nigel Gallacher - Midfield

A new addition to the team as a result of our wide scouting network (nursery parents evening).  Nigel has recently moved on a Bosman from London where he played for the Middlesborough supporters club.

Chris Spragg - Midfield

Versatile midfielder who also fills in at left or right back.  Has also been known to play in goal and once scored a wonder goal from 25yrds.

Richard Blades - Defender

Now pushing 50, Dick has played for Plumtree for at least 10 years.  Despite his advancing years he is probably the fittest member of the team.

Scott Craw - Defender

Scott has also been playing for Plumtree for years. He started as a striker but now plays in defence, where his goalscoring record has remained largely the same.

Paul Gray - Defender

A solid defender, able to play anywhere across the back four.  Luckily his tackles are better timed than his arrivals at the game - never on time despite living a stones throw from the ground.

Simon Maggs - Defender

Mr 'Irish' as he's known to his friends.     His meticulous pre match routine involves a trip to The Irish, the Casino and often only 3 hours sleep before being sick before the game.  Has scored slightly more goals for Plumtree than for the opposition.

Matt Court - Striker

Another one from the Capital One school of football.  In his first season with Plumtree he's scored plenty of goals and never misses a chance to avoid dirty nappies on a Sunday morning.

Mike Davies - Midfield/Striker

Midfield general who after years of playing for Plumtree, left Nottingham and moved to the bright lights of Peterborough.  Has said he'll play again and will be competing with Neil for the most miles travelled for a friendly game of football.

Dave Green - Defender

One of Plumtrees old boys, after a career threatening injury which kept him out of the game for 5 years, He's back again and makes the odd appearance when he's not injured again. Nicknamed 'Totti' due to his long hair not striking ability and still the only player to score from the halfway line for Plumtree (as he keeps reminding us...) Not any more - Jon Atkin scored from there on the 2nd Sept 2007

Richard Thornhill - Midfield

Another veteran midfielder with a fierce left foot shot.  Doesn't score many goals from inside the penalty area but often mishits the odd shot into the top corner.

Neil Brealey - Midfield

Neil travels hundreds of miles in a season to play for his beloved Plumtree.  Takes the 'Jan Molby' role in midfield and has been known to score the odd goal from over 20 yrds.

Chris Kay - Defender (Captain)

Plumtrees very own 'John Terry'.  Solid in defence and now thinks he can score goals too.

Lee Vaughan - Goalkeeper

Lee is our No 2 goalkeeper although he has been known to play the odd game outfield.  As a result of the squad rotation policy, he only plays every other game.

Alex Kelly - Midfield

Another from the same footballing finishing school as Mr Irish.  He prepares just as throughly for every game, but needs the extra 15 minutes in bed.  Has been known to score the odd goal or two.

Luke Murray - Midfield/Striker

Luke is able to play wherever he's needed and is comfortable in both midfield and in attack.  Drives a VW van but shows no other gypsy tendancies.
